What do you want in a beauty salon?

Thinking about opening an innovative Beauty salon, doing market research to find out--

When is the last time you've been to a beauty salon?

What was it for? (style change, touch up, special event--wedding..etc)

What services did you get done?

Did you have to go to multiple places to get what you were looking for (example- going to tanning salon, to gym, to hair salon..etc)

What you be interested in a one stop shop salon? A place that offered traditional beauty services as well holistic healing services, accupuncture, tattoo, gym..etc

Any other comments?

What I would want in a salon is one that offers a variety of services, but has packages at a lower rate. Like a mom's package where you get your hair styled, a ped, and a massage for about $150.00. I'd go for that instead of making three appointments where the hour massage is $60.00. The hair appt. is another $60.00 and then the ped is about $20.00. You can also throw in little gift bags to go with the convenience of a one stop, beauty and make-over salon. For a valley girl of sorts you can offer a tanning session, highlight touch up and maybe a facial...don't have a price suggestion, but I'm sure you're a smart person. A professional might want a guaranteed....hour session that includes a fifteen minute massage, ped, man, and catered lunch from an outside vendor for a set price....like $100.00 WITH the honored guarantee. Sure you're going to lose some on that one, but I bet you get five back in return when their professional colleagues hear about it. LOL Also consider having each section decor'd differently...maybe the mom's section can be serene and free of bright colors that remind them of kids....a professionals section can look alike like a residence or hotel - basically a get away from work. Maybe the tanning section can look like the beach with a waterfall and the like. I could go on forever as you can see.....see ya!

Id it to be relaxing, peaceful...sorta like a spa-ish thing. Itd be really nice. Super friendly staff, and good quality products.

The last salon i went to wasa facial salon and spa. Its really nice and very relaxing. The surroundings were really cool. Just make the place look great. Not funky or anything.Maybe nice and peaceful. I thinkt he person just wants to be relaxed when getting soemthing done.

You know... salon's these days have pretty much everything that I want, I just have to go to a ton of places to get what I want! I mean, I know why that HAS to be done, but I don't like it.

I want to be able to have massage, nails, toenails, facials, skin treatments, micro-derm abrasion, body treatments, calonics, hair cutting, hair coloring, hair styling, waxing, threading... everything! To be able to offer all of these things and more be almost business suicide! That's why most places only offer a few of these services.

It's not that when I go to a spa or a salon I would actually use or take advantages of the services, it's just nice to know they're there!

I will say, though, that two things that I wish that most places offered are foot washes during the summer time when people are more likely to wear sandals and flip fops. Not a pedicure, just a nice foot wash and a scrubbing of the dirt.

Also, Aveda offers this, but not really hair styling or anything fancy, but I think that more people need to do deep conditioning treatments for hair... inexpensive ones. A creamy conditioner, some olive oil, and a little heat, and you have a deep conditioner!

But, that's just me! Lol... good luck!

i would like friendly staff that arnt intimidating as long as i can have a facial and my nails done with out some one looking down on me i'd be happy
