Strong shadow isn't just for the catwalks. Here's how to wear it your way…
Top Five Colour Rules…
Never use more than two shades together unless they're lighter and darker tones of the same colour. Before you start, use a little primer or foundation on your lids to cover any red or blue tinges – which can distort the true colour of your eye shadow – and also to help the colour stay in place. Steer clear of wearing reds and pinks near your lash line – they'll make your eyes look bloodshot. Use a separate brush for each coloured shadow and another to blend – this will stop the shades looking muddy. Keep the rest of your make-up simple. Avoid strong colours on your lips and go for a caramel-toned blush that will flatter whatever colour you choose.
