First off, pardon the rather lengthy absence. I've returned now though, and I've got about 15+ OOP tapes/whatever lined up that I intend to dump here in the coming days. For now I'll leave you with this Sacred Phrases "best-of" 2xC65 gem that includes sounds from no less than Cloudland Ballroom, Confused Kundalini, Mohave Triangles, Pine Smoke Lodge, Sound Out Light, Sundrips, Thoughts On Air, Atlas Of The Universe, Buchikamashi, Floating Gardens, Moods, Motion Sickness Of Time Travel, Sky Thing, Dry Valleys, Afterlife, Carter Mullin, Cristopher Merritt, Tidal, Archers By The Sea, DJ Ecto Cooler, Hobo Cubes, Nova Scotian Arms, Ophibre and Brambles Cinch. 24 tracks, 150 minutes, all awesome.

Hobo Cult

MF (143 MB)

Hobo Cult put out these two (second volume below) excellent compilations on their website for free download. Unfortunately though, for some reason they didn't bother tagging the files properly (in fact, it's a mess), so I'm posting it here with proper tags and tracklist order. Lots of good stuff here, such as Sundrips, Derek Rogers, Élément Kuuda, M. Geddes Gengras, Driphouse, Charlatan, Kellen Shipley etc (40 tracks in total). Highly recommended!

Stunned

[drone, ambient, experimental]

Here's the recently released (and recently sold-out) six-tape Stunned box set, marking the label's 100th release in total. The box reissues a bunch of the earliest CDRs that our favourite tape label put out in 2008 and 2009. There is of course a lot of music to digest here, running a total of eight and a half hours, but I suggest starting with the first tape, which contains the excellent Eureka and Ear And Throat releases, and just working yourself through this thing from there. It's really great.

Tape #1: A: Eureka - Eureka / B: Ear And Throat - Viaje

Tape #2: C: Rambutan - Broken Infinity / D: Metal Rouge - Salt Stones

Tape #3: E: Sleepwalkers Local - Better Living Through Science / F: SMGSAP - Chrysalis Cycles

Tape #4: G: Eureka - Big Breath EP + Eureka - Cloud Stages 3" / H: Plankton Wat - Crystal Wizard

Tape #5: I: The Doglands - The Doglands / J: The Pistil Cosmos - Smoking Clouds In The Land Of Fire

Tape #6: K: Sean McCann - Sway / L: Enfer Boréal - The Birth Of Venus
