Jett Travolta, son of actors, dies at 16

The 16-year-old son of actor John Travolta died Friday morning after suffering a seizure while vacationing with his family in the Bahamas, Travolta's attorney told CNN.

"At this point, we know that John Travolta and Kelly Preston's only son, Jett, had a seizure at around 10 a.m. this morning," attorney Michael Ossi said. "All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful."

The cause of death is not known, Ossi said. An autopsy will be conducted Monday. His body will be transferred to Ocala, Florida, for burial, he said.

Jett's death "was completely out of the blue," he said. "John and Kelly are happy when their children are happy. This is the worst day of John's life."

The Travoltas also have a daughter, Ella, 8.

Bahamian police said a caretaker at the West End resort where the Travoltas were vacationing found the teenager unconcious in the bathroom. Jett Travolta was taken by ambulance to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport and was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Jett Travolta had a developmental disability that his parents, John Travolta and Kelly Preston, have linked to Kawasaki disease, an inflammatory disorder of the artery walls that most commonly occurs in young children and can lead to heart disease.

According to the American Heart Association, "About 80 percent of the people with Kawasaki disease are under age 5. Children over age 8 are rarely affected."

The causes of Kawasaki disease are unknown. Some scientists think it's caused by an infectious agent, such as a virus. Some studies have noted a link between the disease and carpet cleaning chemicals.

"With my son ... I was obsessive about cleaning -- his space being clean, so we constantly had the carpets cleaned," John Travolta told CNN's Larry King in 2001. "And I think, between him, the fumes and walking around, maybe picking up pieces or something, he got what is rarely a thing to deal with, but it's Kawasaki Syndrome."

Vineyard owner Christian Wölffer killed by boat

Christian Wölffer, owner of Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, was hit and killed by a boat while he was swimming in Brazil on New Year's Eve, the winery said Friday.

Wölffer, 70, was on vacation and was hit by the boat while swimming in Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian news reports said the boat's propeller cut a deep wound in his chest.

A native of Hamburg, Germany, Wölffer was fluent in six languages and had business interests from the Far East to South America in investment banking, venture capital, real estate, agriculture and entertainment parks.

In 1978, he purchased Sagpond Farm, a 14-acre parcel with a farmhouse surrounded by potato fields in Sagaponack. He invested more than $15 million in his South Fork winemaking venture, expanding his holdings to more than 170 acres including his 55-acre Wölffer Estate Vineyard as well as his home, stables, and grazing land for his thoroughbred horses.

Wölffer began his business career in 1955, at age 17, as a trainee at a bank.

Nicole Buffett, adopted daughter of Warren Buffett's son Peter, famously made headlines when she dished about the family in Jamie Johnson's indie documentary "The One Percent" about rich kids, and subsequently on Oprah.

"Asked in the film how he'd react to her interview, Nicole responds, 'I definitely fear judgment. Money is the spoke in my grandfather's wheel of life'."

Grandfather Warren Buffett, said to be furious, cut her off, saying "I have not emotionally or legally adopted you as a grandchild, nor have the rest of my family adopted you as a niece or a cousin."

Nicole Buffett's grandfather is the legendary investor Warren Buffett, whose $58 billion fortune made him the richest man on the planet, a mantle he seized from Bill Gates last fall.

Apparently the struggling artist isn't doing well financially, unable to afford health insurance or cable, and she's dishing in Marie Claire Magazine.

Buffett's office confirmed to Marie Claire that he paid for Nicole's schooling but had "no comment" on the rest of the story.

After that, her grandfather mailed her a letter saying he no longer considered her kin. "For him to discard me like that was devastating," Nicole told the magazine. "It permanently divided our family."

Nicole Buffet lives in Berkeley, California on $40,000 per year approximate income from selling paintings. She was "cut off" by Warren Buffet, a notoriously private man, because she ran her mouth about him in public.

UFC warrior Justin Levens found dead

MMA fighter Justin Levens and his wife Sarah McLean-Levens have been found shot to death in their Southern California home, authorities said.

The 28-year-old Levens competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and other fighting federations.

Their bodies were found Wednesday afternoon in their Laguna Niguel condominium by the woman’s mother, who then called authorities, according to Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said the bodies were found dead in a bedroom and a gun was also found at the scene.

Amormino said homicide investigators are looking into the case as a possible murder-suicide. There were no signs of a struggle, he said.

Justin Levens fought in the WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting), and was undefeated in his first seven bouts. He later went to the now defunct IFL and became a member of the Southern California Condors, training under the guidance of Marco Ruas.

Peter Falk battling Alzheimer’s

A court document filed by Peter Falk’s daughter says the Emmy-winning actor is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Catherine Falk is seeking a court’s approval for a conservatorship of her 81-year-old father, who she claims no longer recognizes people. A hearing has been scheduled for late January.

Falk is familiar to most audiences as the star of the television series "Columbo," for which he won four Emmys. He was also nominated twice for Academy Awards for movie roles in 1959 and 1960.

The petition filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court states Falk lives in Beverly Hills with his wife and recently had hip surgery and requires constant care.

A phone message left for Falk’s manager was not immediately returned Tuesday.

Madonna Denies Reports of a $76-Million Divorce Settlement

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are slamming recent stories about their divorce settlement.

The joint statement – issued in London – came two days after Madonna's U.S. rep gave the Associated Press details of the supposed deal. Liz Rosenberg said that Madonna, 50, was set to hand over cash and property worth between $76 million and $92 million, calling it "one of the largest [divorce] payouts ever."

But now the couple calls that information "misleading and inaccurate."

The statement reads:

"We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest.

"A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week.

"The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement.

"Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children."

The couple – whose divorce will become final in January – have two sons, Rocco, 8, David, 3. Madonna has a daughter, Lourdes, 12, from her relationship with Carlos Leon.

Shayna West Barely Survives 50 Mph Sky-Diving Accident And Was Pregnant

Shayna West, a woman who survived a skydiving accident hitting the payment of a parking lot at 50 mph realized something after the fall. Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show she talked about the incident of 3 years ago, and how she was blessed by another miracle besides surviving. Shayna West was 2 weeks along pregnant when she hit the payment.

West was coming down fast from skydiving, and just like we all fear, her fears came true. Her main parachute failed to open, then as she began spinning out of control she tried her emergency parachute. Her reserve parachute failed as well and she hit the pavement at 50 mph breaking many bones including her face, leg, and pelvis. It's one thing to survive that fall, it's another to have the baby to survive it too.

West decided after she had her son, Tanner, that she had to face her fear. "I faced my fear. I wasn't going to let it be something that always controlled me," said Shayna West who went skydiving again.

Michelle Aguilar crowned the winner of 'The Biggest Loser: Families'

Michelle Aguilar entered The Biggest Loser: Families looking to lose weight and resurrect her relationship with her mother. She left it as a champion.

Aguilar was crowned The Biggest Loser: Families' champion during last night's live finale broadcast of the NBC reality weight-loss series' sixth season.

"I'm number one!" Michelle screamed after her victory was announced and the season's 15 other contestants began congratulating her as confetti streamed down on to the finale stage.

The 26-year-old assistant director from Ft. Worth, TX started the competition at 242 pounds and lost 132 pounds for a 45.45% weight-loss percentage, claiming the show's $250,000 grand prize.

Aguilar defeated Vicky Vilcan, a 37-year-old anesthetist from Houma, LA, and Ed Brantley, a 31-year-old chef from Raleigh, NC who won The Biggest Loser: Families' home viewer vote to determine the third sixth-season finalist.

During the show's finale, The Biggest Loser host Allison Sweeney revealed that despite Ed's pleas that home viewers send his wife Heba Salama, a 30-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative, to the finale weigh-in, he had won the viewer vote in a "landslide," landing 84% of the vote.

While she was disappointed that America had not listened to her husband's pleas, Heba was gracious in defeat.

"Everything happens for a reason, we have been so lucky to be on this show that honestly, because we were never here for a paycheck I just wanted the opportunity to be a finalist," Heba said.

"It's the economy," Ed joked about the home audience's decision.

Ed -- who was re-introduced into the competition on Week 7 after he had been eliminated three weeks earlier -- finished as The Biggest Loser: Families' runner-up, starting at 335 pounds and losing 139 pounds for a 41.49% weight-loss percentage. Vicky, who finished just behind Ed in third place, began the competition at 246 pounds and dropped 101 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 41.06%.

Heba's disappointment of making the Top 3 was also short lived, as she went on to win the weigh-in of The Biggest Loser: Families' 13 previously eliminated contestants and claim the consolation weigh-in's $100,000 prize. After starting the as the season's heaviest woman at 294 pounds, Heba dropped 138 pounds for a 46.9% weight-loss percentage that was actually higher than Michelle's winning percentage.

The start and finish weights and final weight-loss percentages of the 12 other previously eliminated contestants -- as well as the order in which they were booted from the competition -- were as follows.

Stacey Capers, a 33-year-old contract pricing analyst from Gainesville, VA began the competition at 221 pounds and lost 65 for a weight-loss percentage of 29.41%, while her husband Adam, a 39-year-old contracts manager, began the competition at 340 pounds before dropping 80 for a 23.53% Weight-loss percentage.

Tom "L.T." Desrochers Jr., a 22-year-old cab driver from Everett, MA, began the competition at 314 pounds before dropping 78 for a weight-loss percentage of 24.84%, while his father Tom Desrochers Sr., also a cab driver, began the competition at 357 pounds before losing 87 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 24.37%

Jerry Skeabeck, a 51-year-old police sergeant from Cleveland, OH began the competition at 380 pounds before losing 115 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 30.26%.

Shellay Cremen, a 51-year-old stay-at-home mom from Royal Oak, MI began the competition at 216 pounds before losing 74 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 34.26%.

Amy Parham, a 40-year-old real estate agent from Greer, SC began the competition at 229 pounds before dropping 105 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 45.85%, while her husband Phil began the competition at 331 pounds before losing 151 pounds for a percentage of 45.62%.

Brady Vilcan, a 36-year-old pharmacist from Houma, LA, began the competition at 341 pounds before losing 117 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 34.31%.

Coleen Skeabeck, a 23-year-old receptionist from Cleveland, OH entered the competition weighing 218 pounds before dropping 64 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 29.36%

Amy Cremen, a 26-year-old purchasing department representative from Auburn Hills, MI, entered the competition at 239 pounds before dropping 104 for a weight-loss percentage of 43.51%.

Renee Wilson, a 46-year-old event manager from Fort Worth, TX -- and the mother of the season's champion Michelle -- began the competition weighing 267 pounds before dropping 106 pounds for a weight-loss percentage of 39.7%.

The Biggest Loser: Couples was recently announced as part of NBC's midseason programming. The seventh overall edition of the reality weight-loss competition will premiere Tuesday, January 6 on NBC at 8PM ET/PT.

Kandice Hutchinson has died in a car accident

Kandice Hutchinson, a contestant on MTV’s Double Shot At love, has died in a horrific car accident.

Kandice Hutchinson was one of the 24 contestants competing on MTV’s reality show A Double Shot At Love. The show is similar to Tila Tequila’s Shot at Love, but this time around the competition was to win the heart of one of the bisexual Ikki twins.

TMZ discovered that back in October, Kandice was rear ended on the W. Airport Freeway in Euless, and ejected from her vehicle. Police reveal that Hutchison was thrown over the center wall into the eastbound lanes of traffic, and her car to burst into flames. She died at the scene.

Producers from the reality show have been in close contact with her family, and they remain supportive of keeping her in the show, but MTV has edited some of the scenes of her outrageous behavior, out of respect for her family.

The first episode of the show, which airs Tuesday December 9th, will reportedly be dedicated to her.

‘Borat’ Composer Erran Baron Cohen on His New Hanukkah Album

The musical force behind Da Ali G Show, Borat, and the upcoming Bruno, Erran Baron Cohen (he's Sacha's brother) also somehow managed to find time to remake a whole collection of holiday classics just in time for the Festival of Light. Songs in the Key of Hanukkah, out today, features collaborations from world-renowned Jewish artists, including Brooklyn's own Y-Love. Cohen spoke with Vulture recently about Yiddish rapping, the gayest CD in his collection, and what childhood games might have inspired Borat's naked wrestling scene.

So, why a Hanukkah CD?
Well, the idea is sort of one of the more unusual projects I have been involved with. To take Hanukkah, which is a great festival that I always enjoyed as a kid singing all the songs. I remember we had this terrible record our parents played with children singing slightly off tune to a really old piano player. As the years went on, I realized they were all really bad tunes and all badly played. So the idea was to use story of Hanukkah and take some of the music of it and update it to make it really cool.

Who are some of these musicians on the record?
They're not so well known in the U.S., but they were some of the interesting singers I was aware of here. Yasmin Levy is an incredible diva from the world-music scene. It was an amazing experience just to hear her sing. Idan Raichel is one of the big pop stars in Israel, sort of one of the more interesting people working there.

What's the CD's appeal for a recovering Catholic like myself?
I think it is aimed at Catholics actually. No, I think the hook is that it’s good music. It's taking something that’s old and bringing it into the 21st century.

Do your kids have a favorite song?
"Oh Dreidel"; they love to dance around. And they love the rap track with Y-Love. He's a New York–based Jewish rapper that converted to Judaism and raps in Yiddish.

Can you rap in Yiddish?
I don't even think I could rap in English. But Y-Love can do it, and it sounds great. When we recorded that, we were in Berlin, so he's this black, Jewish rapper in Berlin, and it was quite surreal but really powerful.

What was it like scoring for Da Ali G Show?
What was great about it was I got to remix some tracks. Like by Supergrass and Chrissy Hynde who were guests on the show; they didn't quite know it was going to happen. They started to sing their songs and I was in the studio, and I remixed almost live and brought in ridiculous bass sounds. Eventually it turned into a completely different kind of extreme drum-and-bass hip-hop tune.

Do you and Sacha share a love of catching people off guard like that?
I think I certainly like pushing things to see how far you can take something, and Sacha has that as well. Certainly, we have a sense of humor. Well, he doesn’t have much of one. I am the funny one in the family.

How do you score something like a naked wrestling scene?
Well, the naked wrestling scene has no music. We decided that was such an extreme scene, sort of "the scene" of the film — certainly the most disgusting scene — that music would have detracted from the reality of the whole thing.

Was that scene based on any of your real-life experiences?
Do you mean did Sacha and I do any nude wrestling around the house? That’s interesting, I can't remember being nude when wrestling with Sacha. I may have been wearing underpants at certain times, but they remained firmly on during our wrestling moments.

Can you tell me about the Bruno score? How different is it from the score for Borat?
It's a lot gayer. That’s the key thing, I think. There's a lot of gay influence in the music. I am investigating a lot of gay things at the moment. I just bought the CD called Gayfest 2008, and that's my main influence.

What is on that CD?
It's got a guy with a sort of muscle-y bare-chested look on the front. It's got Jackie 'O,' "Before He Cheats." It's contemporary gay club, dance pop.

Bettie Page dies in LA at 85

Bettie Page, the 1950s secretary-turned-model whose controverisal photographs in skimpy attire or none at all helped set the stage for the 1960s sexual revolution, died Thursday. She was 85.

Page suffered a heart attack last week in Los Angeles and never regained consciousness, said her agent, Mark Roesler. Before the heart attack, Page had been hospitalized for three weeks with pneumonia.

“She captured the imagination of a generation of men and women with her free spirit and unabashed sensuality,” Roesler said. “She is the embodiment of beauty.”

Page, who was also known as Betty, attracted national attention with magazine photographs of her sensuous figure in bikinis and see-through lingerie that were quickly tacked up on walls in military barracks, garages and elsewhere, where they remained for years.

Dakota Culkin Killed In Los Angeles

Police have confirmed that actor Macaulay Culkin's sister, Dakota Culkin, died Wednesday after being hit by a car in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old stepped off of a curb on the west side of LA when she was hit.

She was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center with massive head injuries..

Police say the officer stopped after the accident and does not faces criminal charges.

A spokesperson for Macaulay Culkin told the Associated Press that it was a "terrible tragic accident" and the family had no further comment.
