mekons - so good it hurts/rock n' roll/retreat from memphis

I can't explain why, but Mekons is my favourite band. If you haven't checked them out yet, I suggest you listen to the albums Fear And Whiskey and/or The Edge Of The World, two of the best albums I've heard. Here are three other albums of theirs that are currently out of print:

Mekons
So Good It Hurts
1988
Twin Tone
[post-punk, alt country]

download

This is not among the best Mekons albums, to be honest. If you haven't listened to them before I suggest downloading Rock N' Roll instead. That said, if you're already a fan you'll probably find some worthwhile stuff here. This is probably also the most difficult album of theirs to find a copy of (with the possible exception of the debut LP, The Quality Of Mercy Is Not Strnen).

Mekons
Rock N' Roll
1989
Collectors' Choice
[post-punk, rock]

download

One of their very best albums, which strangely remains out of print. If you're gonna download only one of these albums, this is definitely the one.

Mekons
Retreat From Memphis
1994
Quarterstick
[post-punk, rock]

download

Easily the most underrated of all their albums. Eve Future and The Flame That Killed John Wayne are two of their best and hardest-rocking songs.
