One of my all-time favourite albums, regardless of genre. I was a bit disappointed to recently read that the band didn't like the mix on this (and wanted to change it), because to me this is about as perfect as a sound can get. I wouldn't change a thing about it. In my opinion this album also happens to be the only album able to challenge the first two Napalm Death albums, as far as grindcore perfection goes. Later Carcass would turn into just another death/melodic death band, but on this, their debut, they managed to fuse grind and noise music in ways never again achieved. More or less "accidentally", they now want us to believe. Weird. Also, look at that beautiful piece of cover art.
