Henry Flynt is so good! Easily one of my favourite 60s/70s minimalists. Probably one of the most unique as well, mixing La Monte Young/Pandit Pran Nath raga style minimalism with American hillbilly country music. You owe yourself to check this music out, really. This one and You Are My Everlovin' are in my opinion his two best records. They're also the only ones that don't seem to be in print at this time. Do yourself a favour and listen to the You Are My Everlovin' album (posted here).
Singer/guitarist from Urfaust and the guy who did the orchestral numbers on the Verräterischer, Nichtswürdiger Geist LP playing here, so if you like Urfaust you should know what to expect.
This is actually my favourite band. I've got all their albums, but it wasn't until I recently got a hold of the Original Sin compilation that I got to hear this excellent EP. Call me crazy but I actually think this version of the title track rivals that of the one found on the album (The Edge Of The World, my personal favourite Mekons LP pick).
Wow, fucked up (the band name itself should provide a hint). Really great too. Quite unique even. Just one half-hour long track. It sounds a bit like early Swans meets funeral doom meets black metal vocals. About ten minutes in an industrial-like beat enters the sound. Dark synths as well. At about 16 minutes it goes bananas with some kind of bullshit techno party. Wtf? The Dutch avant-metal scene is flourishing these days. Definitely a must-download.
Part of Table Of The Elements' Guitar 12" series. I was a bit disappointed that this is so short, but the five minutes of music that's on here are pretty great. He should definitely do more stuff like this. Get the orange vinyl if you can, it both looks and sounds absolutely fantastic.
Really beautiful 7", apparently a tribute to Arvo Pärt. I've heard four out of the eight 7"s in the Touch Sevens series and they've all been top-notch.
